For the second time in less than two weeks, we’re mourning another tragic and avoidable death in a #Philly jail. 💔 We don’t have all the details yet, but we know no guard was assigned to his unit, a heartbreaking but predictable result of prison staff shortages we’ve known about for a very long time.
We have been pushing for our #justicesystem to work together and find solutions to safely reduce the jail population and ease the pressure on staff. It’s past time for city leaders to act before more lives are lost.
